GAA Performance Analysis:
Dublin Footballers - All Ireland Knockout Series 2013

1 Introduction:
 

Regular readers will know that we have analysed a number of Dublin games in isolation this season. In this article, we are going to compare a number of the key statistics for Dublin's 3 games in the knockout series. The quarter final v Cork, semi final v Kerry and the final v Mayo.

The article will conclude with some observations on the statistics presented.

  • Dublin conceded more than twice the number of frees in the final v Dublin than they did v Cork in the All Ireland Final Quarter Final.

  • Of the 10 measures compared, Dublin achieved their highest score in 6 of these v Kerry in the semi-final. Namely: Tackles made, Turnovers, Shooting Efficiency, Opposition's Shooting Efficiency, Scores from Play and Scores from Frees.

  • Goalkeeper Stephen Cluxton had a 80% Shooting Efficiency from 45's in the Knockout series.

  • Dublin's highest Turnover count in the Knockout series was 29 in the All Ireland Final v Mayo.

  • As the games in the knockout series progressed, Dublin won greater percentages of their own kickouts in each game but lesser percentages of the opposition's kickouts.
